M R Maniveni Foods Limited isn't trying to do too many things at once. The Chennai-based company processes two pulses Urad Dal and Toor Dal and has been doing exactly that for over 15 years.
Their plant is in Thiruvallur, Tamil Nadu. Urad Dal gets the automated treatment; Toor Dal is still processed manually. Most of what they produce goes to retailers, wholesalers, and e-commerce platforms across Tamil Nadu and Karnataka strictly B2B, no consumer-facing brand to speak of.
The financials are hard to ignore. Revenue crossed ₹203 crore in FY25, up from ₹119 crore just two years earlier. Profit after tax tripled in that same window from ₹1.52 crore in FY23 to ₹3.88 crore in FY25. For a small pulse processor, that's a fairly clean growth curve.
In September 2025, the company filed a DRHP to list on the BSE SME platform. The IPO is a full fresh issue 65 lakh shares, no existing shareholders cashing out. The money goes toward building a new factory and buying better machinery, with a clear focus on automating more of the Urad Dal operation.
Three promoters run the show K R Manikandan, M Chandra, and K Selvam all from the pulses trade. It's a focused, unglamorous business, but the numbers suggest they're running it well.
