Patel Retail Limited was incorporated in 2008 (with roots in a grocery business begun in 1990) and is headquartered in Ambernath, Maharashtra. It works in the retail sector, operating a supermarket chain focused on Tier-III cities and suburban areas.
The company runs stores under the "Patel's R Mart" brand, offering food, non-food FMCG, general merchandise and apparel across more than 10,000 SKUs, along with private label products such as "Patel Fresh," "Indian Chaska," "Blue Nation" and "Patel Essentials." As of May 2025, it operated 43 stores across Thane and Raigad districts in Maharashtra, spanning about 1,78,946 square feet of retail area, supported by a distribution fleet of 18 trucks and backward-integrated agri-processing facilities in Ambernath and Dudhai, Gujarat, for products such as peanuts, spices and pulses. Sales are concentrated mainly in Maharashtra and Gujarat. The promoters are Dhanji Raghavji Patel (Chairman and Managing Director) and Bechar Raghavji Patel (Whole-time Director).
Profit after tax rose from about Rs 15 crore to about Rs 25 crore over the three years before the IPO, with an EPS of Rs 10.30 for FY25, as per the RHP. The IPO was a mainboard book-built issue of about Rs 242.76 crore on the NSE and BSE, comprising a fresh issue and an offer for sale totalling 95,20,000 equity shares, priced at Rs 237-255 per share, and it listed in late August 2025. Net proceeds from the fresh issue were earmarked for repayment or prepayment of certain borrowings (about Rs 59 crore), funding working capital requirements (about Rs 115 crore), and general corporate purposes.
