Bonfiglioli is an Italian company that makes gearboxes, motors, and drive systems. They've been around since the late 1950s and have grown into one of the bigger names in power transmission globally. Not glamorous work, but the kind of engineering that quietly keeps factories, wind turbines, and construction equipment running.

The company runs two main sides of the business. One handles industrial and factory automation — think conveyor systems, packaging lines, food processing equipment. The other focuses on heavier applications like mobile machinery and wind energy. Two fairly distinct worlds, but both rely on the same core products: gearboxes and drive systems that move things reliably under load.

They sell under five brand names, each with a different focus. Riduttori covers standard gearmotors and motors for everyday industrial use. Trasmital handles the heavy-duty end — planetary gearboxes for excavators, road machinery, and wind turbines. Vectron is their electronics side, making frequency converters and servo drives. Tecnoingranaggi makes high-precision planetary gear units, mostly for applications where backlash tolerance matters. The fifth covers hybrid and electric drive systems for newer applications like e-mobility.

In India specifically, they've operated since 1999 and run three plants — two near Chennai and one in Pune. They turn out over 350,000 gearbox and gearmotor units a year and serve sectors ranging from mining and textiles to food processing and recycling.
