Dhoot Transmission Limited was set up in 1998 in Chakan, Maharashtra, though the group's real story begins in 1999 when Rahul Dhoot founded it in Aurangabad. Today it's one of India's bigger names in automotive components, mainly wiring harnesses for two- and three-wheelers, but also sensors, controllers, switches, cables, and connectors that go into everything from commercial trucks to farm equipment.
The company has grown steadily over the years, picking up businesses abroad TFC Cables in Scotland in 2017, Parkinson Harness in the UK a year later, and San Electromec in 2019. It now runs 23 factories across India, the UK, Slovakia, Thailand, Japan, and South Korea.
Clients include Bajaj Auto and Honda Motorcycles, and it has also partnered with Hero Electric on wiring harnesses for EVs, which gives you a sense of where it's heading.
On the financial side, FY2024 was a good year revenue up nearly 30%, profits almost doubled, and net worth grew by over 50%. In January 2025, Bain Capital came on board as an investor, reportedly to back further expansion. The company currently has around 1,175 employees and an authorized capital of ₹47.65 crore.
