Orkla India Limited (formerly MTR Foods Limited) was originally incorporated in August 1996 and is headquartered in Bengaluru, Karnataka. It works in the packaged food sector, manufacturing and marketing branded Indian food products.
The company makes breakfast mixes, ready-to-eat and ready-to-cook meals, spices and masalas, snacks, beverages and desserts under its MTR, Eastern and Rasoi Magic brands, with a particular presence in Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, and exports to more than 40 countries. It operates nine manufacturing facilities in India along with contract manufacturing arrangements, and sells around 2.3 million units a day. The company is a subsidiary of Norway's Orkla ASA, held through Orkla Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd., with the Meeran family (Navas Meeran and Feroz Meeran) as other significant shareholders.
Revenue from operations was Rs 2,394.71 crore in FY25, with profit after tax rising about 13% year-on-year, as per the DRHP. The IPO was a mainboard book-built issue on the NSE and BSE, structured entirely as an offer for sale of about Rs 1,667.54 crore comprising up to 2,28,43,004 equity shares by Orkla Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. and other selling shareholders, priced at Rs 695-730 per share, and it listed on 6 November 2025. As the offer was entirely an offer for sale, the company did not receive any proceeds from the issue; the entire amount went to the selling shareholders.
