Behari Lal Engineering Limited was incorporated in 1995 as Behari Lal Ispat Private Limited in Punjab, and converted to a public limited company in 2024, when it was renamed. It is headquartered in Mandi Gobindgarh, Punjab, and works in the integrated iron and steel manufacturing sector, specializing in customized engineering solutions.
The company manufactures engineering castings, alloy steel products, and metal rolls that are used to shape hot steel into products such as bars, rebar, and structural sections, serving industries including steel, mining, power, heavy engineering, automotive, and aerospace. It operates two integrated production units in Mandi Gobindgarh, a steel melting shop and foundry, and a rolling mill division, with a combined installed capacity of about 1.20 lakh tonnes per annum as of March 31, 2025. As of that date, it had served 1,681 customers, including Shyam Metallics and Energy Ltd, Jai Balaji Industries Ltd, MSP Steel & Power Ltd, and Metso India, and exported to 15 countries including Germany, the US, Brazil, South Africa, and the UAE. The promoters are Parkash Chand Garg, Rajesh Garg, Dinesh Garg, Lovlish Garg, and Bhuvnesh Garg.
Revenue from operations rose to Rs 508 crore in FY25 from Rs 446 crore in FY24, while profit after tax rose to Rs 53 crore from Rs 36 crore over the same period. The IPO is a mainboard, book-built issue comprising a fresh issue of up to Rs 110 crore and an offer for sale of up to 78,54,521 equity shares by promoters and investor shareholder SG Tech Engineering, proposed for listing on the BSE and NSE. As per the DRHP, net proceeds from the fresh issue are proposed to be used for funding capital expenditure requirements, repayment or prepayment of borrowings, and general corporate purposes.
